今日ランチ英会話で上手く言えなかったところ、をSに添削してもらいました。

お題は息子と土曜日に行ったバレエ教室の無料レッスン。なるべく、日常だが、普段やらないようなこと、普段英語で話さないようなことを敢えて選んで練習することが語彙力up、表現力upに繋がるんだと思ってます。

バレエのバー(練習バーとでもいうのでしょうか)を支えているバルブの、”支える”をなぜかsustainを使ってしまってNG。ふつうにsupportでよいそう。バレエしてる人たちの立ち位置(おどり位置)はdancing positionでOK。

On Saturday, I took my son to a ballet class. That school offered group lessons that are free for 3 months and in my opinion, practice of ballet dance is basic not only for all other dances but also for all sports. So it was really trouble some taking him to the class on Saturday, but I did, hoping it would be beneficial for him.

As expected, he behaved very freely. Instructors and I often told him to mimic what other kids did and to do what the instructors said. Ignoring what he was told, he started to examine ballet bars. He seemed to be attracted especially by the bulbs that sustained supported the bars and began fiddling with the bulbs. Also, after being bored with them, he started to kick beverage cans that were put as marks so that other kids could know their dancing position.

「踊り位置がわかるよう目印として置いてあったジュースの缶をけり始めた。」というのが私の課題でした。これを実際今日はパッと言えなかったのです。目印はふつうにmark、でよいとのこと。

After the lesson, the instructors kindly told us to come next time again, but embarrassed, I determined we would never go back there.

fiddle with も何かで勉強した表現でした。ということで、ちゃんとインプットはしないといけませんねーやっぱり。
